  • May to June: This is a highly sought-after time featuring agreeable weather in the mountains. Though accommodations and routes can become quite crowded.
  • July to August: The monsoon season causes intense rain in Uttarakhand. Visitors must plan with caution, as travel disruptions, blocked roads, and landslides are possible.
  • September to October: Many pilgrims favor these months for the clear skies and a generally pleasant journey, though mountain weather remains unpredictable.

It is always recommended to review current weather updates, government advisories. And temple schedules prior to beginning your trip.

Trekking on the Yamunotri & Kedarnath

The journeys to Yamunotri and Kedarnath are the most physically challenging segments of the pilgrimage.

Yamunotri

The trek to Yamunotri from Janki Chatti is about 6 kilometers each way. For travelers requiring assistance, pony and palki (palanquin) services are often available locally, depending on current regulations and availability.

Kedarnath

Options such as ponies, palkis, and helicopters might be accessible, contingent upon the specific route, weather, government guidelines, and overall availability. Unless these services are explicitly covered in your travel package, they must be arranged separately.
